Lindsey's Heart Surgery- Part 3

Our sweet little girl, Lindsey, was born with multiple heart defects. The most dominant one is hypoplastic right heart syndrome. She is undergoing a procedure called the Glenn-Fontan at Miami Children's Hospital to help correct the problems. She had her first surgery at just 2 days old, followed by a two week hospital stay. She then had a cardiac catheterization at 3.5 months followed by surgery #2 at 4 months (followed by another two week hospital stay). Thankfully, we've been doing well since then. Lindsey had another cardiac catheterization in March 2015, which revealed that her body is now ready for her third scheduled surgery (the Fontan). This surgery is scheduled for June 8th, 2015.  We are hopeful that everything will go as planned but are anticipating at least a week's hospital stay in Miami. During this time, we will need to pay for hospital-sponsored housing as well as living expenses while we are down there.  Eric (Lindsey's dad) is currently working at a job that is temporary in nature, which means that he has no sick/vacation time and will be unpaid for the entire amount of time he takes off to be with us. We are very much living paycheck to paycheck as it is and being without half our income in definitely going to hurt us. We already have tons of medical bills from all of the previous hospitalizations, which will increase further from this stay. Our little girl is amazing and we are hoping this next surgery goes well and we bring her home as quickly as possible so she can recover in the comfort of her own home.
