Hello. My name is Maria, and on June 11, 2024, I was hit by a car going 70 mph as I was walking in a crosswalk on University and Main in downtown Gainesville, FL. I sustained life-threatening injuries and polytrauma. Subsequently, I have had to endure several operations and have had crippling medical, dental, and prescriptive bills that increase during my recovery. I am grateful that even though I have endured this trauma, there has been an outpouring of love from the local community in Gainesville, especially from Mai Kai Kava Bar and Rootin' Around Downtown in Daytona Beach, FL.

Currently, I am gathering support for medical bills during my recovery. Additionally, I require physical therapy to regain the function of my right arm, which is a repeating bill. Any proceeds generated will apply directly to medical treatment.
