Help Get Bunny Home!

05.28.15 UPDATE....
Thank you so much for opening a GoFundMe account for us, I didn't even know it existed.  We have 5 weeks before our visas expire and we have to be somewhere else.  No destination yet.  If the worst happens, Tiglath and I go back to the U.S. and Dave goes to Canada.  If the very worst happens and more funds aren't raised, Tiglath stays here and we probably never see each other again.  I never dreamed Dave getting his PhD could make us loose everything, including each other.  So the fund is a lifeline of hope, right now.

It hurts so deeply when others ask why we are wasting money and dont just get a new one after we move.  There isn't a new Tiglath.

Tiglath sends big giant bunny nosebonks.

Tiglath bunny's family moved to the United Kingdom for dad's education and cannot return home to the US!

Tiglath bunny's mom, Kiara, shares her family's situation:

There is absolutely no way to get Tiglath out of the country without putting him in cargo.

Dave had a phone interview for an IT job with University of Delaware that went great, and we were on the top of the world with hope until we sat down at the computer to work out the details of getting home if he got it.  Surface check said there was a direct flight on Fin Air from Manchester to New York, so all this time we have been thinking bringing Tiglath home would be a breeze.

Every stinking flight goes through Heathrow (London) as a hub.  Heathrow refuses to allow animals in the cabin of a plane, even if you never get off.

Dave spent 6 hours going through every single airline/boat/train option to try to find a way for Tiglath to travel with us.  We looked into taking ferry boats to Dublin and flying out from Dublin - goes through Heathrow.  Hopper flight to Glasgow - goes through Heathrow.  Ferry back to Amsterdam - doesn't allow pets in cabin, goes in pet room with cats and dogs.  We rented a car to get here from Amsterdam($2,000) so Gwenni and Tiglath could stay in the back of the car hidden by luggage and we just didn't declare that we had pets to the ferry people.

Tiglath is terrified of travel.  Not frightened, terrified.  He thumps and thumps and thumps, and only stops thumping when I talk to him and sing to him.  He shakes the whole time unless he's petted.  He had Gwenni to keep him company when we moved here.  Gwenni was the brave one, and she kept him calm.  He doesn't have Gwenni this time.  If he was put in cargo or a pet room, I believe he would die frightened and alone, believing we had abandoned him.

Tiglath still has major anxiety attacks at being abandoned from his first family leaving him in their apartment to die when they moved away and just left him.  The apartment owner hadn't planned on going there for two weeks but then another errand came up that was close by so he decided to stop in and see if there was any damage and he found a rabbit in a cage.  If he had stuck to his original plan, he would have found a dead rabbit.  He was then placed in the local humane society, where he was scheduled to be euthanized before we found him.  So he hates being left alone.  Since Gwenni died, he and I have become closer than I ever could have imagined.  My health has deteriorated since we moved here and because the buses are horrible I've become house-bound most of the time.  So Tiglath and I spend every single day together.  He hates it when I go to bed.  Gwenni's death hurt both of us, and we have bonded together as we grieved for her.

A private charter to Amsterdam would be $2000 but he could fly in the cabin with us.  Then its another $2000 for the flight home.  Without Tiglath, it would be $800 and a direct flight.  If we had it, we would spend it.  We did to get here.  We sold everything we owned because the bunnies were more precious.  We currently have $2000 left out of which $750 goes to next month's rent.  There is no money for first and last months rent if Dave does get a job.  We have less than 6 weeks.  We have no resources to move.  We sold everything we owned to move here.
