Love & Support The Meck Family

Donation protected
Eric Meck lost his courageous battle with cancer 4/13/2025. But not without a fight until the very end. May Gods landscaping be forever beautiful and filled with love for heaven gained one of the best today.

If you have the opportunity- go outside (and get a tshirt tan), drink a Miller Lite, and enjoy the sunshine. ☀️ ❤️

As of 1/20/2025:

Time may be running out for the incredible, strong-willed Eric. Not quite sure how much time is left.

Eric has been placed on Hospice and is currently in the Reading Hospital. Drs feel it’s best for comfort measures to be taken as there are no more surgery options and chemo treatments are not working as the cancer has spread. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Some updates :

Eric is an absolute warrior but has been struggling lately. Many unanswered questions have popped up the last few weeks and the family could use some extra prayers and support during this difficult time.

Also, the meal train is still up and running. If you'd like to participate in the meal train, please follow this link:

To know a Meck is to love a Meck! It's true!! Whether it is Kate and her always bubbly attitude; McKenna and her sweet and loving personality; Tanner and his craziness and love of sports; or Eric and his quiet yet oh, so funny dry humor. The Meck family is thoughtful, helpful, and all-around awesome. So, everyone was incredibly sad to hear the unfortunate news that Eric had been in pain for quite a while.

Then in early January, we learned that it’s official…. Eric has the dreaded 'C word'. The technical term is colonic adenocarcinoma.

He (and Kate) have been going back and forth to Penn since November/December 2022, along with other local doctors' appointments, trying to figure out what exactly was going on. Since that time he has had a few biopsies and procedures along with a lot of pain and discomfort. Next will be to meet with oncology which is predicting 3-4 months of chemotherapy and potentially additional surgeries.

The next few months will certainly involve many trips to and from Penn, many hotel stays in Philadelphia, many meals outside of the home, and many, many medical bills. Lots of people have asked how they can help and while I'm sure none of us have the power to cure cancer, we can help to ensure there is less of a financial burden to their family while they are concentrating on Eric's health.

Thank you for your help through a meal, a donation, a letter, or a hug; I know the 4 of them are so appreciative of all the support since the start of this journey.

Thank you,
~ Love, family & friends
