I'm Angie- Kaitlyn's mom. Kaitlyn (age 25) was involved in a traumatic car accident the evening of December 30, 2023. She sustained the worst possible kind of brain injury (diffuse axonal injury or DAI) and has been in a coma since the impact. Kaitlyn spent 22 days in the trauma ICU and has now moved to a long term care facility. As next of kin, Kaitlyn’s dad and I find ourselves as her primary advocates and closely monitoring her care and progress.

Kaitlyn is a fighter. She’s strong & stubborn. We have to believe she is going to recover from this coma and brain injury to live a full life again.

A family member asked that I set up this GoFundMe as a way for us to all come together and show support for Kaitlyn and the care she will need now, and in the months/years to come. Donations made at this time will help my husband step back from his full time job using FMLA and be here for our daughter (and me).
