We are Gary and Jessica, trying to build our homestead from the ground up with a budget of zero. We spent last winter away from our homestead and a bear got into our cabin. We have been taking care of Jess's mom while she was treated for cancer and have been unable to get in there to clean it out and refurbish the cabin. There is damage to several walls and sections of the floor that we need to replace, along with insulation and trying to finish the addition for a bathroom and bedroom. We are expanding our home from 255 sq ft to around 384 sq ft, a huge difference for us!
We live paycheck to paycheck and Gary is disabled, so money is very tight and we find ourselves unable to buy the necessary supplies to finish the job.
We need to replace several sections of plywood on the walls where the bear broke in and where there is some water damage. We also need to replace several sections of insulation in the walls. In addition to trying to get the addition finished, where we will need a window and some more insulation and typar for the outside. We have already milled the lumber we need.
