Hi my name is Kristy and I run ‘Benalla Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation’. I do this as a volunteer and it is mostly funded by just myself and my husband. We get occasional food and monetary donations from friends, family and members of the community and that is greatly appreciated and we try not to rely on outside help unless absolutely necessary.

I’m sorry to ask this but we are in desperate need of updating our “hot box” and it is well beyond our financial ability. We live in a very old cold house and our current hot box struggles to keep a warm temperature (It is a second hand box requiring heat lamps (that blow and need replacing a lot) and requires an external thermostat because the internal one doesnt work properly anymore). This is extremely important when caring for vulnerable sick/baby birds and marsupials and has caused a lot of stress, especially during last springs fiasco with a large number of babies in care, having to rely on an old struggling hot box and a few repurposed reptile enclosures.

We would love to be able to purchase a couple of ICU boxes to help keep the babies and sick animals warm during their time in care. Ideally we would get 2x TLC40 (40cmx30cm) ($1200 each) for the babies and 1x TLC50 (60cmx40cm) ($1550) for the adults/larger babies. However even just help purchasing a single smaller ICU would be a huge help.
