Just a couple of weeks ago, our family had our car written off after someone crashed into it. We thought that was the worst of it, but things have since become even more difficult.

A bonfire from a nearby property spread out of control and caused a devastating fire that affected multiple homes, including ours and our direct neighbour’s, Anna and her family. Sadly, our two homes were among the worst affected, with severe damage to our gardens, sheds, and many personal belongings.

While insurance is helping with some of the structural damage, many of the items lost are not covered such as tools, fishing gear paints etc.

Between both households, we have lost essential belongings including cordless tools used for work, personal equipment, and hobby items with huge sentimental and practical value. My partner and our neighbour both lost tools they rely on day to day, impacting their ability to work and replace what was destroyed. My son also lost his fishing gear, something he absolutely loves and spends much of his free time enjoying. So he is gutted!

After dealing with one setback after another in such a short period of time, we’re now facing the financial and emotional challenge of trying to rebuild and replace the items not covered by our insurance.

Anna’s family and mine are creating this fundraiser to help both affected households replace essential work tools, personal belongings, and family items not covered by insurance ONLY.

Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference and go directly towards helping both families recover from this unexpected event and get life back on track.
