Last year, as a first year medical student I was able to provide medical care and spread the Gospel to the people of Choluteca Honduras. This trip was extremely valuable as I was able to spread Gods love while gaining experience in my medical training. I want to thank everyone again who donated for that trip. Your donations were extremely generous and allowed me to join an amazing medical team who treated over 800 patients within 2 communities over a week. One of those communities had never received medical care. Thank you.
I have been diligently working hard as a second year student gaining more knowledge and clinical experience for a second mission trip. This year Jaclin and I are traveling to Haiti, March 4th-12th. Haiti was hit very hard by Hurricane Matthew and is in a time of repair and rebuilding. This trip is very special because Jaclin is going with me and will be caring for the people of Haiti as well, especially the women. She will be triaging patients, providing women’s care, and ministering to children. We will be setting up clinics where patients will receive exams, medications, OMT, and prayer. Below is additional info about where we are going and who we will be working with.
Many impoverished villages surround the community of Les Cayes, Haiti. Living in poverty leads to malnutrition. Malnutrition leads to illness and illness perpetuates poverty. Trapped in this endless cycle the people lose hope. Their despair makes them so much more susceptible to superstition and Voodoo cult oppression. We at ICR believe God wants to use us to make an impact against this trend and restore faith in our Lord’s promise.
We have a team of doctors, nurses, medical students, and an evangelistic team from around the country that will be partnering with a local ministry. We are bringing medicine and food, but most importantly the love of Christ. Our goal is to hold 6 camps and minister to as many as God leads our way. Lord willing we will be departing on March 4th, 2017 and returning on March 11th. Your support will go a long way. All of your monetary contributions will go directly to bring God’s love to Haiti and is 100% tax deductible.
