Let's help Army Vet Ron Peters with his medical expenses!
Donation protected
On April 25, 2024, Ron Peters, a retired Oregon Army National Guard OV-1 Pilot, and Vietnam Veteran suffered a life altering stroke that has disabled the left side of his body.
Since that time he has moved from being hospitalized to a skilled nursing care and rehabilitation facility, returned to the hospital with sepsis [life-threatening condition] and then moved again to another facility. He is making progress in recovering vision, communication skills and some mobility but is not ambulatory nor can do self-care. Up to this time he has been covered first by Medicare and then by Tricare for Life.
His care team has now determined Ron has reached a plateau he no longer qualifies for long-term rehabilitation and the family must now pay for his care out of pocket until the ADA compliant remodel of their downstairs family room to accommodate Ron is completed at the end of December.
VA disability benefits have been applied for, and are now in the 4 to 6 month waiting cycle. The immediate need is for some funding to help cover the out of pocket private pay the family is facing now that Tricare benefits have been suspended."
Let's help Ron and his family with a donation!
