When we started this fundraiser, it was to ask for help while Shawn wasn't able to be home. It is with a heavy heart that this fundraiser is now asking for help, as Shawn won't be returning home. Covid has taken our beloved Shawn! He was the soul provider for his family, and he was proud to do so. Let's make him proud and help financially, with the up hill battle Kristina, Triston and Cera are now facing. With his very unexpected passing, the family didn't have time to prepare. That's where we come in, we are their village, we are their FAMILY! The McDonough crew has always made everyone feel like family and it's now our time to show them we are.
These funds will be used for funeral arrangements, and day to day bills and expenses. A very close personal friend of The family (Alyson Morgan) will be making sure all these funds going directly to the family.
If you know anything about the McDonough family, you know they always show up for all of us, and now it's our time to show up for them. Shawn has COVID and has been hospitalized as it developed into Covid Pneumonia. This terrible virus has been running rapid within his body causing more and more damage. After 2 days in the ICU, Shawn suffered a catastrophic stoke due to covid complications.
Their family will more than likely have to make some devastating decisions later today or later this week. Shawn married his high school sweetheart, Kristina and they have 2 beautiful children together. Kristina had a life altering injury not that long ago that didn't come without medical bills. Paying those medical bills, along with the day to day bills, and in preparation for Shawns medical bills, THEY NEED US! The last thing at this point in time that this family needs to worry about is financials. We will keep everyone updated as the updates come in.
April 1st: Shawn is currently in the hospital due to his reaction to the Covid virus.
April 2nd update: Per Shawn’s ICU nurse he is alert and aware of his surroundings.He was moved to ICU last night bc his Oxygen levels are poor.
He is currently on max amount of oxygen. If no improvement he will be put on a face mask - oxygen, That forces air into his lungs. So the steadily improving has had a set back, and perhaps big Ogre type guys just need a little extra help battling Covid-pneumonia .
April 4th update: Shawn is not well everyone, and is struggling to breath on his own. I received a call this morning from the ICU Doctor that they will be Intubating him and later sometime today a ventilator
We are stunned and in shock and the out pouring of support and Well wishes has humbled me with grace and gratitude. My intuition tells me nothing and I’m not sure how this will end.I have HOPE, I also know at this stage with Covid- pneumonia our survival rate is poor. He was so against the Ventilator when we talked about Covid over this past year. So.....theres that. Please now that Shawn and I live our lives believing in Free Will and Freedom at whatever cost.Prayer Warriors ( as my sister would say), and Good Vibes humans ( as I would say)...DO YOUR THING.........Bring my husband, my friend, my partner home to us.............Please know we are as well as we can be considering our lives are crashing down around us.It's time this gentle giant needs us to step up.
April 6th: Shawn has had a Catastrophic Stroke due to Covid complications. He was supposed to have had a MRI last night however we have now been told it will be this afternoon. Our family will more than likely have to make some devastating decisions later today or this week to be completely honest and realistic about our situation.Please know we are as well as we can be considering our lives are crashing down around us.
April 6th (9pm): Tomorrow..........This will be the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to say: Due to the catastrophic stroke from Covid complications we will be letting Shawn go tomorrow. The damage to his brain has left us with no other choice.The shock, grief, and devastation is truly more than I can bare. I’m so sorry we all have to suffer this horrible mind boggling grief!Covid has taken my life chewed it up, spit it out, all in one sticky lumpy, mess.
34 years of my life will be gone tomorrow. My protector, friend, husband, and provider. I will be honest I’m afraid. I’ve never lived my adult life without Shawn Mcdonough. I haven’t worked since my Ankle replacement, I don’t even know how to start the damn lawn mower ! LolSo....... know that Covid affects every one differently. Please be cautious I can not express my sincere gratitude to everyone with the prayers, kind words, and just reaching out to me!
