On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, my mother arrived at the hospital with clear stroke symptoms. She waited in triage for over nine hours before receiving care. With stroke victims, every hour is critical.

For the next six days, she remained in a hospital that did not have the proper equipment or resources to care for her. Each day we watched her condition decline from weakness and lack of adequate support. We had to plead for her transfer to a higher level of care—where she then spent eight days in the ICU receiving critical treatment.

She is still hospitalized and now awaiting a PEG tube surgery due to her compromised ability to swallow.

This GoFundMe will help me care for her while keeping my household afloat until I can return to work, as well as support her ongoing medical bills. Insurance helps, but it does not cover everything.
