I, Uriah Bussey am coming to the public for help on the behalf of my mother, Anne Boyer [pictured in the middle] due to her recent diagnosis of  Stage IV, Lung Cancer and recent survivor of 4 Strokes this past semester. I admire and love my mother to the fullest, she has made the utmost of sacrifices to sustain me with a great education and leading my life through my art practice, one of which she has always dreamed for herself. The way I lead my life is through her teachings, will power and love. She is the mother of 3, the eldest being my brother Damu, Sonae, and then myself.  She has been a full time caregiver to my sister Sonae who has special needs, whom is full of life, responds well but needs careful eye 24/7 as well.

This summer leading into the winter of 2016 has been a significant one for my mother, Anne. She resided in Georgia the last 4 years, and I resided in Pennsylvania finishing my education. The start of the summer she was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. September came, my mother was then diagnosed with a Mini Stroke disorder. Put on a thinner and seeing specialists, still a big stroke occured in October, in which defected her sight, walking, speech, motor skills and memory that she recoverd from kind of okay but def not 100%. By herself from October to December still taking 24/7 care of my sister Sonae in Georgia some how with the power of her own strength and God. December comes, graduation is near for me and my mother then suffers from a blood clot in her right leg, and left arm. They upped her thinner to a stronger one named Eloquis.

Soon after my graduation happens, December 19th, she then suffers another massive stroke which has left us stuck in Philadelphia. This time it has effected all of the same areas but worsened her vision, motor skills that included left arm paralysis, speech,  and walking.

Luckily I am blessed we are in better care at the moment at University of Pennsylvania, and working with great specialists that have discovered her diagnosis of Lung Cancer that caused all of her stroke episodes, that Georgia's medical team has failed to find.

My life just began less than 4 weeks ago as a young adult finishing school, I still strive to continue my dreams. But I am in a bind. I teach art during the summers. I was looking to just get a regular job somewhere, volunteer at museums, continue my art practice, apply for more internships and experience to travel.
But this is up to me to take a pause, I am making the sacrifice to care for my family.  My mother does not have much of one at all, and she will not be due for travel for a very long time. I cannot risk her to go back to Georgia by car that can cost her her life since she is at such a high risk for strokes, and no she cannot fly either [not permitted by the Doctor]. Plus I am at one of the best hospitals in the country.

I am working with social workers to help my situation and currently we are blessed enough to stay at a family friends until we find a permanent home in Philadelphia again. I have to figure out how to end the lease, bills and expenses in Georgia while handling all of my mother's medical treatment expenses, transportation and care for my sister as well with no real job at the moment until I am able to get aid being a caregiver and the resources kick in.

I have to act soon on her expenses in Georgia to be able to give my mother the appropiate care otherwise, her medicare and medicaid assistance will not be transferred properly. Looking to sell all of our furniture in Georgia, go back pack up with what we have left, and recieve her car that is left there and drive back to Philadelphia to reside here permanently again. They rented a car to bring my college things back to Georgia and my brother is already back there taking care of his family in Georgia. I need your help or any assistance that you can bring my way so I am able to find a balance again for my family and I. I pledge to myself to find peace and balance for my family. I thank you for taking the time to read this and if you can pass along my story that will greatly be appreciated.
