URGENT SUPPORT FOR MUSLIM REVERT SISTER AND HER KIDS

Asalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

If you are reading this, I pray that you and your loved ones are in the best of health and eemaan. Allāhumma aameen.

Today, I’m reaching out with an urgent appeal to help a Salafi revert sister and her young children who are in a very difficult and distressing situation. They are on the verge of losing their home, and time is running out.

Their Situation

This sister, a revert to Islam, embraced our beautiful deen wholeheartedly — but in doing so, she was completely ostracised by her family. She has no family support, no close relatives, and no community “village” to rely on. Despite these challenges, she has continued to work full-time and raise her children alone, striving to remain strong in her faith and to give her little ones stability and hope.

Unfortunately, over the past few months, her financial situation has become unbearable. She has fallen into rent arrears of £710.23 and now faces court costs of £404, bringing the total to £1,114.23. The situation has now become critical. The sister has received a Notice of Seeking Possession, meaning the landlord has begun legal proceedings that could lead to eviction if the arrears are not cleared soon.

In addition, she has Council Tax arrears of £2,692.47, and the Council has issued a Liability Order for £1,814.89 of this amount. The letter, dated 17/09/2025, gave her seven days to clear the balance in full, but she did not receive it until 24/10/2025. Upon immediately contacting the Council, she was informed it was too late. The notice further warned that if payment was not made, Enforcement Agents could be instructed, additional fees added, and her belongings at risk of being seized and sold.

This has left the sister and her young children in an extremely vulnerable position. We are urgently raising £4,000 to help clear these debts, prevent homelessness, and enable her to purchase essential groceries, insha’Allāh.

Why Her Universal Credit Can’t Help

The sister has sought every possible form of assistance. She even contacted Universal Credit and asked for her arrears to be deducted directly from her benefits — a process that can sometimes help tenants avoid eviction. However, in her case, the housing officer explained that the Council cannot control how much Universal Credit will deduct, nor can they guarantee when or if those payments will be applied. This means that while the request can be made, it does not stop court action or remove the arrears in time.

In short, she is doing everything by the book, but the system is simply not working fast enough to protect her and her children from losing their home.

Her Reality

This sister is working full-time, but the rising cost of living, combined with debt repayment, has pushed her into hardship. She is struggling to buy groceries and pay for essentials like school meals, travel, and utility bills.

Every penny she earns goes toward trying to clear her debts to keep her family secure. But with no savings, no family safety net, and no immediate community assistance available, she has reached breaking point.

Her mental and physical health are deteriorating under the stress. She has been trying to stay strong for her children, but the weight is becoming too much to bear alone.

What We Can Do

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The most beloved of people to Allāh is the one who brings them the most benefit — and the most beloved deed to Him is making a Muslim happy, relieving his suffering, paying his debt, or taking away his hunger.” (At-Tabarani in Al-Kabir, As-Sahihah no. 906)

This is our chance to relieve a believer’s burden and to bring peace to a struggling family who has no one else to turn to but Allāh — and us, their Muslim ummah.

Our Goal

We are raising £4,000 to cover:
• Rent arrears and court fees (£1,114.23)
• Council Tax debt (£2,692.47)
• A small emergency buffer for groceries and essential bills

Your contribution — no matter how small — can help this sister avoid eviction, clear her debts, and breathe again.
• £10 can help with a day’s rent or groceries
• £50 can go toward reducing her Council Tax debt
• £100 or more can make an immediate life-changing difference

A Message from the Heart

This sister has done everything right — she’s working, seeking help, and showing immense faith despite immense hardship. Yet, she’s alone in this test.

Let’s be her village. Let’s be the answer to her du’aa.

If you can’t donate, please share this campaign far and wide and make heartfelt du’aa for her and her children.

May Allāh reward you abundantly, protect you and your loved ones from hardship, and grant you ease in this world and the next. Aameen.
