In the name of God, the Merciful and the Compassionate.
Assalamu alaikum (May peace be upon you)
Please can you HELP?
We are reaching out to our network of friends, family and the wider public to help access potentially lifesaving treatment not currently available through the NHS for our dear sister who lives in Glasgow with her husband and 6-year-old son.
In 2017 our sister, then aged 27, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment was initiated and then followed by surgery to remove the cancerous tumour. In 2018, much to the relief of everyone, our sister was informed that her breast cancer was in remission.
Before Chemotherapy sessions, our sister used a cooling cap in order to prevent hair loss. Unfortunately, our sister ended up losing her hair regardless of this, she found this to be an extremely challenging time in her life, resulting in low self esteem and lack of confidence.
In March 2021, our sister began experiencing excruciating pain and loss of movement in her left arm and hand. She was experiencing increasingly severe pain and in desperate need of help seeking advice from a wide range of doctors and consultants. She had previously been misdiagnosed with a trapped nerve by health practitioners within the NHS.
Here you can see, our sister's arm was severely swollen however many professionals within the NHS misdiagnosed this as a trapped nerve and she was sent to physiotherapy. Not a single professional we spoke to picked up on the fact that a swollen arm could indicate something more sinister was occuring, such as cancer.
After a difficult 18 month period of being pushed from pillar to post within NHS departments and hospitals, In June 2022, our dear sister and her family were given the heart breaking news that the breast cancer had in fact returned. Our sister was diagnosed with aggressively spreading stage 4 oestrogen negative breast cancer. The unbearable pain that our dear sister had been suffering in her arm and shoulder was caused by a cancerous growth under the collar bone in the brachial plexus area.
As a family, we will never forget the rushed and brusque manner in which the oncologists informed us, even before the biopsy results were received, that our sister would die of breast cancer within a very short period. She was only offered a very brief round of radiotherapy, almost as a sticking plaster, largely being advised to accept her fate and go home to spend the remaining time she had left with her family. Our sister is and always has been a strong and determined young woman – she and her family refused to accept the death sentence given by her doctors.
Alhamdulillah, with Allah swt’s help, we as a family have explored alternative methods of fighting the cancer using nutrition, supplements and boosting of the body’s own immune system. Our extensive research has helped to identify potentially lifesaving cancer treatment. This has given us hope that our sister can overcome this disease and see her 6 year old child into adulthood. Our sister is a loving mother and her 6 year old son is the focus of her existence. She is determined to fight to stay alive for her son and family.
We are asking for your help and support to fund the cost of the Dendritic vaccine which is not provided by the NHS. This vaccine helps the body to fight cancer using an individual’s own DNA by activating the immune system. The Dendritic vaccine treatment is only available privately- currently at the cost of £40,000. Our family have gone some way towards raising funds for this treatment but urgently require your help and support to get us the rest of the way and give our sister a fighting chance for life.
Time is of the essence. We fully recognise that Allah (swt) is paramount over all of our lives. We put our trust in Him but we would be eternally grateful for your prayers and any donation that would help us reach our goal inshaAllah.
“And whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind.” (5:32)
On behalf of our family, we thank you.
