Hi. My name is Debbie. I am trying to raise money to save a wonderful family from homelessness. I am looking to make a REAL change for the better for this family.

My friend has 4 children and is the verge of being evicted. She has ONE WEEK to find somewhere to go

My friend is a great mother and a genuinely good and loving person. She loves her children very much. She tries to take care of everyone. She struggles with PTSD and is unable to work at this time. Her life has been difficult from a young age when she suffered a trauma. Her now ex husband, was abusive to her and her life was turned upside down. She lost her good job and her home. Her ex does not pay any child support. She has been homeless before with her children and I cannot imagine the fear she has now. She has issues she is struggling to get through. She has fallen on hard times and she and her children should not have to suffer.

Her children are wonderful little girls. They are smart and funny. They are very sweet and it breaks my heart that they struggle this way. They DO NOT deserve to be on the street. They deserve some time in a stable home, where they can be safe and happy. A home where they can go outside and play without fear. It breaks my heart that she tries so hard and cannot break free. If you have ever been in a situation that seemed impossible to escape, you understand. And you also can understand that small amounts of help are a band aid and sometimes BIG help is needed to get out from under it.

Her landlord, in my opinion, is a horrible person. Her apartment is at best substandard. Calling it a slum is generous but she has nowhere else to go. Her apartment doesn't even have real windows in some rooms. Just plexiglass and duct tape. Aside from purposely not fixing things, if she wants anything fixed or even a lease so her kids can go to school, he just raises the rent and does nothing. Often times, drug addicts wander into the building and get high on hard drugs in the stairwell outside her door. It is a terrible situation for her and her children.

She has a WEEK to move. Although he gave her the 5 day notice and he accepted partial payment after the notice, he still filed in court. I can take her in temporarily but I don't have the room forever as much as I would like to. Also one of her children has terrible allergies to my pets.

My mother told me I can't save the world but I say I can, one person (or in this case 5 people) at a time. There is no reason not to try. Please help me in saving this family!

I would like to raise enough to get her a small rental house in my neighbor and pay the FOR ONE YEAR. She needs time to heal and it is impossible to do when every day is a crisis. Also no one will care about her credit score if she has a whole year of rent. I can help with utilities and child care while she looks for a job and goes to her therapy.

PLEASE HELP. All of the money that is raised with go for housing assistance and utilities. You have a chance to save 5 lives. Any amount helps! Even 5 or 10 dollars. If you cannot donate please share. The more people we reach, the better chance we have of reaching the goal.
