Full Moon AND April Fool’s day..I hadn’t planned on rescuing a cat!
Found by a rural fishing lake, in a poor emaciated state—covered in fleas, pale gums, underweight.
And yet, here he is… head down in a food bowl, trying.
Despite everything, he’s already purring. He bumps his tiny head into my hand through the cage. He makes biscuits. He knows he is now safe.
I’ve started helping him immediately—small regular meals, a bath, flea treatment, warmth, and somewhere safe to rest. I’ve ordered worming treatment and I’m keeping a close eye on him. Hourly obs overnight last night.
But he needs proper veterinary care.
His gums are very pale, which is worrying as indicative of anaemia and potentially other issues. He needs a full check, blood tests, and likely ongoing treatment to get him well again.
I have veterinary nurse training and experince in animal welfare and rescue, I’ve rescued all sorts over the years—cats, hens, ducks… I just can’t ignore something like this.
But I am also a single mum to four boys, and I simply can’t cover all of this alone right now.
I never ask for help… but blood tests and full evaluation alone are in the region of £300 and the. There will be potential treatment costs, vaccinations, neutering…
so I’m asking for help.
Every donation will go directly towards:
• Vet consultation
• Blood tests
• Flea and worm treatment
• Any medication or follow-up care he needs
If you can give anything at all, I would be so grateful.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much
He’s trying. He’s really trying.
He just needs a chance now.
Thank you for helping me give him that.
