My name is Richard. I am a 57-year-old disabled man from SC who is barely making ends meet. I am the last person who thought I would be creating a GoFundMe account, but I've nowhere else to turn and have already exhausted all resources. I look at his face and he is not himself. He looks so sad. So, as I type with tears in my eyes, I'm afraid I may be losing my best friend.

About 4 years ago, I was not in a good place and wishing I would not wake up in the morning. I prayed to the Lord God Almighty to give me the strength to make it through one more day. A few days later, the most wonderful thing happened. I had the opportunity to have a dog become part of my one-person family. He has given me a new sense of purpose, a soul to care for, and one to care for me. He is my entire life. There is nothing I wouldn't do for this friend.

Tuesday, he started throwing up blood and had blood in his stool. He hasn't eaten since Monday. I've been feeding him with my finger: peanut butter, high-calorie gel, meat-based baby food, boiled chicken, and nothing is staying down. He is drinking water. The vet says it could be a bowel obstruction and wants to run tests and x-rays to find out if that's a possibility. I am broke until I get paid at the end of the month. With a monthly income of less than $950, I don't know what to do or where to turn. I prayed about it and I felt called to reach out for help. I don't know what else to do. I cannot lose my best friend. So, I am praying that help will be directed, even if it is in the form of prayers, vet help, suggestions, or funding this request.
