Hey there... my name is Jaylee and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my beautiful mum and her beloved cat, her best friend... Munchkin. We live in Melbourne, victoria & let's just say Munchkin isn’t just a pet — she’s Mum’s world, her emotional support, and her light through some of life’s darkest times.

Munchkin is a Blue Russian/Ragdoll cross who’s been right by Mum’s side for 5 years, through illness, trauma, and even during her recovery from seizures and physical pain... mum sure picked a special kitten out of a gorgeous bunch of babies years ago...

Their bond is incredibly deep, like no other, looking after Munchkin is part of Mum’s daily joy and purpose. One of the little things that brings Mum happiness is picking up Munchkins special food for her every few days, its mums ritual & grounding, My heart glows at how much mums daily happiness comes from nurturing her with love and care.

Recently, Munchkin has fallen seriously unwell and stopped eating for a week & is extremely low on liquids & hasn't had any bowel movements.

The vet has recommended hospitilization to us asap & further testing and treatments that will cost cost upwards of $2,000–$3,000. We’ve covered the initial visit & were able to cover some medication to comfort her vomiting & encourage eating for the next day or so but any further care is financially out of reach.

The vet advised that euthanasia is the best solution if funds can't be provided & i find this absolutely heartbreaking, mum is completely devastated & lost for word... i am writing this without her knowledgeas we speak, we will NOT stand for euthanasia of an extraordinary & deeply loved beautiful girl thats simply in need of some urgent veterinary care.

Mum has struggled with more than she should ever have to over the years like so many of us & i will do everything i can to support a woman who more than deserves it when she can't ask for help herself fue to so much trauma... through turning so much pain into love, and munchkin being part of that, I won't see someone I love loose something they adore & cherish, over money without a damn good fighting chance...

Mum is on a disability pension, managing epilepsy & mental health support and I’m doing everything I can to advocate for and support mum during this time as her daughter, especially after recently going through a major personal loss of my own. We are NOT giving up on Munchkin.

This fundraiser is our way of trying to give her a fighting chance. NO animal deserves euthanasia because there owner is suffering hardships or simply hasnt got sufficient income....

Please be aware: All funds raised will go directly toward Munchkin’s vet care — including all tests, treatments, medications, and follow-up care, as recommended by the professionals we've already spoken to ASAP.

And if we are lucky enough to raise more than Munchkin’s treatment costs, any additional funds will be gratefully donated to the Epilepsy Foundation and to organisations that support mental health, animal crises support & awareness programs as these causes are incredibly close to our hearts as well.
