I am a self-reliant, 71 year old single woman who uses an electric wheelchair for mobility, but I do not own a vehicle in which to transport it. The wheelchair is a new feature of my life, and I am currently faced with a sudden emergency need to escape my apartment complex during the day because the simple stair repair at my apartment complex has become a major demolition of the walls on three sides of my apartment.

Apartment management hid the expected extent of the construction, and my quiet, contemplative cell has become a rat hole in a construction site. It is not in the least conducive to any of my meditative or creative activities!

I have all sorts of disabilities that are exacerbated by conditions created by the construction but did not find out about the extent of the work until just DAYS before it began! I do not have time to find another apartment,.

In addition to the demolition, redesign and rebuild, management recently announced that they want to tear into my only clothes closet because it sticks out too far from the building.

If I could just get a van converted to use by a disabled person, I can leave during the day, when the construction is at its height, and escape to a restaurant or a library or somewhere I can continue to work on my book.

If this campaign does not generate enough money for a van, perhaps I can take an Uber away from here on those days when things are really bad?

So far, it appears that USED vans that are already adapted for use by a disabled person would be best suited for my needs. Those are mostly in the $60,000 price range, so I am asking for that amount, hoping fervently to be able to get the money and find the van quickly.

If we can't drum up that amount, I will use it to hire transport, which is a less efficient method and far more expensive in the long run, but I can only do what is possible to do.
