✨ GoFundMe Update ✨
Dear friends, community, and family,
We never imagined we would be writing another health update so soon after last month’s pneumonia hospitalization — but life had other plans.
A few nights ago, after dinner and feeling exceptionally well, Carl was suddenly struck by what felt like a freight train. His heart rate soared to 168 and stayed there for six hours, spiking even higher along the way. Every movement besides lying down brought waves of faintness and severe sweating.
He was rushed to the ER, where doctors initially suspected a pulmonary embolism. Thankfully that was ruled out, but the cause of this crisis is still under investigation. So far, he has had:
• 2 ambulance transfers
• Numerous tests (including a strongly protested CT scan)
• 4 blood draws
• 3 IV ports
• Multiple cultures and monitoring
Not to mention an endless flow of IV’s and injections.
After 8 long hours in the ER and being moved between two hospitals by ambulance, he is now admitted and under the care of a collaborative team: a cardiologist, a pulmonologist, and an internal medicine specialist. The verdict is still out, but for now, he is stable and in the safest place.
The difficult part
Because of his history of cancer and treatment 32 years ago (which led to heart complications), he has been declined for international and Mexican health insurance for years. That means every hospital bill is fully out of pocket. Even with the lower costs here compared to the U.S., the bills are overwhelming — especially coming just one month after his previous hospitalization.
The hopeful part
Carl has always chosen to serve from the heart — offering coaching, guidance, and support at the lowest possible cost, and often freely, to those in deep need. His passion has always been to help others heal, grow, and reclaim their lives. Now, he finds himself needing to receive that same compassion and support from this community he loves so much.
Your generosity has already carried him through more than words can say. Thank you for every prayer, every message, every gift of support — they are felt deeply.
How you can help now
We are raising funds to stay ahead of mounting hospital bills and to he can be safely discharged without delays (in Mexico, patients can be held until bills are settled due to flight risks). Every donation, no matter the size, helps carry him through this difficult season so he can continue to recover and return to his purpose of serving others.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. We are humbled, grateful, and filled with hope because of you.
With love,
Carl and Will
