Urgent - Trans couple faces eviction.
I'm Lex, owner & artist at Lexicon's Workshop. I live with my partner of 22 years and fiancee Valerie, in the Pacific Northwest. We're transgender and both disabled. We also have a senior cat with urinary problems named Bruce Wayne.
I make art and fashion for the home and body, and work out of my apartment. My partner works in grocery.
We're seeking urgent, emergency assistance with rent/bills or we face eviction. This is not just our home, but also my work space. Loss of this space would be devastating, nearly impossible to recover from, and put us both in potential physical danger.
We have applied for emergency assistance and are on the waiting list, which is very long. It's a lottery system, and help is possible but potentially unlikely.
Any money donated will directly go to pay off our Pay or Quit notice
If the notice is not paid by 5 PM on Friday, May 15, we face escalation to formal eviction. This would give us 30 days to find shelter or be homeless. Our landlord is a corporate entity, with ruthless policies that don't account for our years of excellent rental history, or our vulnerabilities.
The goal amount will bring our rent to date as well as provide help with living expenses.
If we do not meet our goals, the amount will be used to catch up finances as much as possible to relocation and/or temporary housing.
This amount represents just under two months of our rent. We have done our best to this point, and are extremely grateful for any help we get.
Thank you so much for reading. If you choose to donate, thanks aren't enough.
