Update (3/26/24): After launching this fundraiser, I found out one of the dogs has TVT (cancerous tumor) in her genitalia area and is scheduled to start chemotherapy next month. Another $600 will cover the cost of the 3 shots she needs, so I am increasing the goal to $1,800. Thank you all so much for your support!

Urgent help needed! Hi, my name is Jonathan and I’m helping raise urgent funds for Coron Animal Savers (CAS) in Coron, Philippines. I’m currently here volunteering and we are dealing with a severe tick outbreak. This morning I helped remove nearly 50 ticks from a 4-month old puppy, and dozens more from another dog that was kept in the same area. Ticks are a very common problem on this island during the dry season (until end of May), and can carry DEADLY diseases. Please help me keep these pups alive.

Why is this so urgent? Coron is a small, relatively undeveloped island. There is only one vet on the island part-time and tick prevention medication is not available on the island. CAS’s founder is currently in Manila to buy enough tick prevention medication to treat the dogs until the end of dry season. We urgently need to raise funds to cover these costs before she heads back to Coron later this week.

How much do we need? It’s going to cost $15 per dog per month to keep them safe until rainy season when the ticks are no longer an issue. There are currently ~40 dogs at this property, including 7 puppies. It will cost $30 per dog to keep them protected for the next two months. It would be great to raise all $1,200 needed, but the urgent need is to get them all treated and protected ASAP, which will cost $600.

Please note that gofundme is not available in Philippines so these funds will come directly to me and 100% of funds will be transferred to CAS.

About Coron Animal Savers: CAS is a small, private animal shelter founded in 2023, with over 50 dogs and a few cats rescued from the streets and from bad situations (irresponsible owners). The shelter is run solely on donations from amazing people like you and a few volunteers.
