I adopted Tobias last year for my son, and he has quickly become an irreplaceable part of our family. He’s a sweet, playful, and quirky cat—completely obsessed with Q-tips, marshmallows, LEGO tires, and Nerf bullets. His personality brings so much joy and laughter into our home.

Unfortunately, last night he became ill and began vomiting—something I’ve never seen him do before. While I know occasional vomiting can be common in cats, I became very concerned when the symptoms continued. My son called me while I was at work to tell me Tobias had gotten sick again, so I left immediately and came home.

When I arrived, Tobias didn’t greet me—something that’s very out of character for him. He hadn’t eaten, used the bathroom, or shown any energy all day. I decided to take him to the vet immediately. After requesting an X-ray, the vets discovered that he had swallowed the end cap of a Nerf bullet, and it’s now lodged in his intestines.

Tobias needs surgery as soon as possible to remove the obstruction. The estimated cost is $5,200—though this could vary slightly. I’ve been able to save some funds, but recent home repairs (roof, gutters, and underbelly work) have significantly limited my ability to cover the full amount.
