My name is Derren Myers , and I am a single father to a vibrant 6-year-old daughter who means everything to me. I am writing this with a heavy heart and a failing body, asking for your help to save my life and my ability to be the dad she needs.

 

I have a recurring tumor located in a dangerous area of my spine the cervical and thoracic region, from C7 through T3. Right now, this tumor is pressing against my spinal cord. The effects have been devastating, I have lost feeling in half of my body, and my ability to walk has become severely hindered. Every day, the numbness spreads a little further, and my legs grow weaker.

 

This condition is progressive. My doctors have been clear without urgent surgical intervention, I face permanent paralysis.

 

I have already exhausted every penny I have on tests, MRIs, consultations, and previous treatments for this recurring tumor. Because this is a recurrence, my medical insurance has left me uncovered for this specific surgery. I am facing this battle alone, with nothing left in my funds, but I am not ready to give up.

 

I have a 6-year-old daughter who still needs me to tie her shoes, to chase her in the park, and to walk her to school. She is my entire world. The thought of her watching me lose the ability to walk or worse, losing me entirely is unbearable.

 

I need to raise funds for my tumor removal surgery and the immediate post-operative care. The goal is to get me into the operating room before this tumor takes my mobility for good.
