UPDATE:

Hi everyone, I wanted to give a quick update and clarify why I lowered the goal. When I first set up this fundraiser, the estimate for Sergei’s surgery and diagnostics was between $8,000–$10,000, so I set the goal at the higher end to be safe. Since then, I’ve been diligently working 7 days a week, and was able to put together $2,000 of my own money, which I’ve already paid toward Sergei’s diagnostics.

With diagnostics covered, I’ve reduced the goal to $4,500 — which is the automatic GoFundMe suggestion, and will go toward the cancer removal surgery.

I can’t thank you all enough for every donation, share, and kind word. Knowing we’re not in this fight alone means the world to me and Sergei.

STORY:

Anyone who knows me knows Sergei isn’t “just” a dog to me. He’s my soul family, my anchor, and one of the reasons I’m still on this earth. His love has carried me through my darkest days, and now I want to fight to keep him alive as hard as he’s fought to keep me alive.

Everyone who meets Sergei falls in love with him. He’s full of energy, goofy charm, and endless character. Despite his recent diagnosis of a fast-growing, aggressive, and RARE cancerous tumor, he’s still in high spirits, which makes this all the more shocking.

The vet says we need to act fast before it takes away the light that everyone who knows Sergei has come to love.

The surgery Sergei needs is estimated at $8,000-$10,000. My insurance won’t cover it, and every day that passes matters. With surgery, Sergei has every chance to keep living the joyful life he loves.
