Urgent Surgery Needed for Wynter's Torn ACLs

UPDATED: This is my baby, Wynter. She is a 7 year old Siberian husky who I rescued from the pound almost 2 years ago. She is the sweetest girl and is the most loving dog I have ever had. She loves to run, play & snuggle. Recently we found out she has two cruciate tears as well as a herniated disc in her back. We have decided to get her a type of surgery called an Extracapsular Repair which is done on dogs of smaller size and typically calm breeds and with Wynter only being about 48 pounds and very calm for a husky she thinks she is a perfect candidate. This surgery is less invasive than typical TPLO surgery done for ACL repairs. With this surgery we can do both legs at once and she will be able to go on supported walks as soon as 1 month post operatively. In about 3 months she will be able to do limited off leash activity.

This surgery is estimated to cost between $3,028.87-$4,654.87. It depends on how much sedation is needed as well as if we decide to do the follow up rehab visit for a month, that includes an underwater treadmill exercise to help her in recovery. The previous invoices, doctor notes, and x-rays all in previous updates.

This surgery will give her relief with both cruciate tears which then will help improve her back injury as there will be support to her back end. After the surgery we plan to treat her back as needed with pain management such as supplements, rimadyl medication, and possible steroid injections depending on her pain scale. Dr. Cole said in her professional opinion if we do not get this surgery she gives Wynter about 1.5-2 years before her legs give out on her and she has trouble walking at all.

I have reopened the gofundme and will be posting on social media again considering I still have a decent amount to raise. We have raised a little over $2,100 so far, $957.98 has been used for these past visits- including her most recent visit at Aurora which was $80. Invoices are all included on these gofundme updates.
