Urgent Surgery Needed for Ukrainian Rescue Dog
Donation protected
My name is Michael Jacobson, and I’m a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in combat during Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2022, I volunteered in humanitarian missions during the Ukraine-Russia war, focusing on rescuing animals injured or displaced by the conflict. I traveled to frontline cities to help evacuate and care for animals affected by bombings and instability.
One rescue became personal. In Eastern Ukraine, I found a dog in need and adopted him. I named him Краматорськ (Kramatorsk), after the city where I found him. He’s now a beloved member of my family and lives with me in the United States.
I’m starting this GoFundMe because Крама recently suffered a traumatic injury. He sustained damage to his lungs, a compound fracture in his front left leg, and severely torn ligaments in his right front leg. He’s currently hospitalized to monitor his lung function, and once stable, he’ll need two major surgeries to walk again.
I rarely ask for help, but after relocating across the country for work, I’m in a tough financial position. I haven’t yet received my first paycheck and am still covering the basic costs of establishing a new life. Any support for Крама’s care would mean the world to me. He is genuinely my best friend and a true part of my family. I couldn’t imagine life without him.
I have attached an image of the bill from the hospital requiring a payment of $17,640. All funds will be used to cover these medical expenses at:
