This is my dad Ramiro Ramos Cardona. He is 77 years old. He lives in Villa Alicia, Siguatepeque, Honduras. He has had heart problems for the past 5 years with a slow heart. One and a half years ago he started losing his voice. He went to the doctor and the doctor gave him medications and it didn't help completely. Then the beginning of this year he went to the doctor to get it checked again. They saw that there was a tumor growing in his throat. But because of how slow his heart was, they did not want to touch the tumor before his heart could be fixed, meaning, the doctor was saying he needs a pacemaker because his heart was very slow. Then this June 2025 he finally was able to get a pacemaker put in for his heart. The doctors give 3 months for recovery after that. He's been in recovery for 2 months now. The past couple weeks he has been struggling to breathe. This past Sunday August 24, he couldn't breathe. He was taken to an emergency room, where they gave him oxygen. Then the next day he was taken to the otolaryngologist (throat doctor). "The nasal mucosa was congested, the nasopharynx erythematous, the pharynx and hypopharynx granular, and the epiglottis shaped like an omega-shaped epiglottis. A tumor was seen in the area of ​​both vocal cords, with vocal cord paresis and a decrease in air passage of almost 15%. Dx: Tumor lesion of the vocal cords with an 85% decrease in air passage and paretic cords. Emergency tracheotomy and laryngeal videomicrosurgery were planned." (the words in quotation marks is the doctor's diagnosis) We will be making another appointment with a different cardiologist to check how his heart is doing. We are hoping this cardiologist will give permission to do the surgery. This surgery is a very serious procedure and we are trusting God that dad will make it through.

Este es mi papá, Ramiro Ramos Cardona. Tiene 77 años. Vive en Villa Alicia, Siguatepeque, Honduras. Ha tenido problemas cardíacos durante los últimos 5 años, con latidos lentos. Hace un año y medio empezó a perder la voz. Fué al médico y le recetaron medicamentos, pero no le ayudaron del todo. A principios de este año, volvió a revisarse. Detectaron que le estaba creciendo un tumor adentro en la garganta. Pero debido a la lentitud de su corazón, no querían tocar el tumor antes de que pudieran repararlo; es decir, el médico le decía que necesitaba un marcapasos porque su ritmo cardíaco era muy lento. En junio de 2025, finalmente le colocaron un marcapasos. Los médicos le dieron 3 meses de recuperación después de eso. Lleva dos meses en recuperación hasta ahora. Las últimas dos semanas ha tenido problemas para respirar. Hasta que el domingo 24 de agosto, no podía respirar completamente. Lo llevaron a urgencias médicas, donde le administraron oxígeno. Al día siguiente, lo llevaron al otorrinolaringólogo (médico especialista en garganta). “HALLAZGOS:

Se observa mucosa nasal con congestiva, Nasofaringe con eritema. Faringe e hipofaringe granular. Epiglotis en omega. Se aprecia lesion tumoral en area de ambas cuerdas vocales con paresia de cuerdas vocales y disminución del paso de aire practcamente 15% paso aereo. Dx Lesion tumoral de cuerdas vocales con disminucion del paso aereo en un 85% con cuerdas paréticas. Plan Traqueotomia de urgencia y Videomicrocirugia Laringea”. (Las palabras entre paréntesis son el diagnóstico del médico según los exámenes) Pediremos otra cita con otro cardiólogo para revisar su estado cardíaco ya que esta en la recuperación de la puesta del marcapasos. Esperamos que este cardiólogo autorice la cirugía. Esta cirugía es un procedimiento muy serio y confiamos en Dios que papi la resistirá
