My 6-year-old baby has been diagnosed with Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, and after a month of treatment and continuous testing, he needs surgery. He was brought into his emergency vet on October 7, 2025, and has been deemed a “very severe case” by his surgeon and two different specialists brought in by his general vet.
He now needs something called a Perineal Urethrostomy (or PU surgery) to help widen his urethra and stop his flare-ups from turning into life-threatening emergencies. His surgical specialist sent me the quote today for $4,500-$5,000, and I went ahead and scheduled it for November 13th as I have no choice but to do so. I will not give up on him.
For those who know me, I work a full-time corporate job that doesn’t have any leeway when it comes to a remote or hybrid remote schedule, so this has been and continues to be a very difficult time for us. Any and everything helps, and if you’ve made it this far, we thank you for reading, sharing, and (if possible) donating.
