Hi everyone,

Regretfully, Holly and I have found ourselves in a really unfortunate and heartbreaking situation. Our cat, Meko, urgently needs surgery after suffering a serious injury to his back leg.

Sometime over the past few days, Meko appears to have been attacked by someone in Leigh-on-Sea. Our vet has confirmed that his injuries are not consistent with a fall or being hit by a car. Sadly, it appears that he has either been kicked or punched, resulting in his rear left leg being broken at the hip joint.

There are also no puncture wounds or blood, so a fox attack has been ruled out.

We found Meko hiding under our friend’s bed, close to a window that leads onto an extension of the rental property we live in. There are clear marks showing that he had desperately tried to escape whatever had happened to him, and you can see where he dragged himself to safety.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to think about what he may have been through.

The X-rays and medication alone have already cost us around £1,200, and his surgery is expected to cost around £2,000.

We are urgently trying every possible option and have contacted charities for support, but unfortunately, we have been turned away.

We completely understand that times are difficult for everyone, but if you are able to help us towards Meko’s treatment, no matter how small, we would be incredibly grateful.

Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this post could make a huge difference and help us reach someone who can.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read Meko’s story and for any support you can give. ❤️

Please help us get Meko home, happy and pain-free again.
