Good day to all. My name is Chamia, and I would like to share my story about my current situation.
I was involved in a serious car accident last Tuesday. Although I was only a passenger and not the driver, I sustained the most severe injuries and was hospitalized. The accident left me with a broken mandible (lower jaw bone) in multiple places, causing my mouth to remain open and preventing me from closing it.
As a result of this injury, I am unable to speak, eat, or drink. I am currently surviving on life water, antibiotics, and pain medication administered through drips. I have been informed that I will require surgery on my jaw in order to eat, speak, and drink again.
I have been admitted to PMH, but they are unable to assist me at this time, as the dates for my specific surgery have passed, and the earliest available date is not until January. They plan to send me home with my jaw only supported by my gums, leaving me unable to manage on my own.
At this point, my only other option is to seek private medical assistance or possibly travel overseas for further treatment. Surviving this accident feels miraculous to me, and I believe that God must have plans for me, which is why I am still alive today.
