GoFundMe Goal — Thank You for Saving Gemma
I’m so emotional and grateful to share that Gemma had her surgery thanks to all of you. Your kindness, support, and generosity gave her the second chance she never would’ve had without you.
Here’s Gemma’s full story — for those just joining us:
Gemma was found injured and limping in Venice Beach after being hit by an electric bike. She had been left on the streets for four days, in the care of a homeless man. When I found her, I knew I couldn’t walk away.
I rushed her to a local animal shelter, hoping they could help — but instead, I was told they would only keep her comfortable for 8 days. If no one stepped up to cover her medical care and provide foster support, they would be forced to put her down.
I couldn’t let that happen.
I took full responsibility for her and rushed her to the ER. X-rays confirmed the worst:
Her back leg was broken in 5 places, and one bone was completely separated from the joint. Surgery was her only hope to keep the leg—and survive.
Because of YOU, Gemma received the emergency surgery she needed. A metal plate was inserted to stabilize her growing bones and begin the long road to recovery.
She is now healing at home with me and her two sweet sisters, Beast and Iubire (@beast.iubire). She’s surrounded by love, toys, warm beds, and finally — safety.
⸻
What’s next for Gemma:
• She’s started physical therapy to regain strength in her leg
• She will need a second surgery down the line to remove the metal plate
• She continues to grow stronger every day — and her spirit shines more and more
