Our daughter Dahvi first developed Cancer as a child suffering from a cancerous Wilms tumor and had her kidney removed, chemo and radiation. She remained cancer free & healthy until late 2022 when she ended up in the hospital for something unrelated.

While she was there, they did some testing and found her adrenal was enlarged with a tumor and another tumor was on her only kidney. Dahvi was again diagnosed with another cancerous tumor in Feb 2023 and also Cushings disease. It completely devoured her adrenal. In June 2023, she had a major surgery (adrenalectomy) and tumor removal and has been doing really well. It took about 3 months to adjust to her medications and life without her adrenal's and one kidney. She has often gotten sick since she does not have an immune system to help her fight off even a common cold so it's been challenging. There has been no other detection of Cancer on the kidney and we are grateful...until now...

While she has been healing up and adjusting, she was scheduled for a second surgery for a very large fibroid tumor that was found in January 2023, last year. Things were going well, we worked with a doctor and surgery was set for November 2023 after a lot of testing and studies they show he tumor has grown substantially from 8 CM to 12CM and recent, further imaging showed that she also has a calcified ovary.

We just received results from testing done last week (Dec 2023) and she is now showing CV-2, the beginning stages of cervical cancer. This means that she is facing cancer again for the second time this year. She has been incredibly brave through this process and will have her cervix and uterus removed along with the tumor and she will also be doing chemotherapy. Her surgery is scheduled for late January 2024

Testing and biopsy will need to be done when the fibroid tumor is removed. Since she has a history of cancer and tumors that grow rapidly we are on very high alert and everything we are currently doing is with major urgency.

Unfortunately, the OB/GYN who was supposed to do the surgery, cancelled 4 days before it in October without a real explanation and at the end of the insurance year and left us with NO OTHER surgeon to be referred to. Just a "take care". Dahvi bleeds continually and her risk is growing for more complications. It's been a very difficult 2 months as she has aged out of her insurance coverage with the family and now has to get her own so she can have the surgery with a different doc at UCLA in late January....we are pinched for time and again in need of paying the deductible since it's now going to be a new insurance year.

Yes, as you can imagine, we are devastated about this news along with Dahvi. We did what we needed to as a family and were left having to now figure this out with intense urgency now that we know what we are dealing with.

We are again raising money to help navigate the deductible and other expenses with insurance as she can not work and has been officially "disabled" for the last month. She will be unable to work until she is healed after the surgery and does chemo so she has no way to pay for even the insurance or living expenses. We are stretched as a family from the first surgery and before anything, need to come up with the finances to pay for the surgery before anything.

As you can imagine, it's been a rough year for us in many regards and are navigating being dropped by this surgeon and "figuring it" out from here. Imagine paying the bills, meeting the deductible and now being forced to do it all over again because of someone's negligence.

I know it's a huge ask to support us, but we are making a powerful request for support once again as a family and also asking for healing prayers as we, for the second time in a year, navigate surgery, cancer and whatever else she will need to face.
