Dear Charlotte Community,

I am reaching out in a time of desperate need for my father, who is facing a life-threatening medical condition in Afghanistan. His survival depends on immediate surgery, but the situation is complicated by the harsh realities of living under the oppressive Taliban regime. In Afghanistan, you cannot receive the care you need without first paying the full cost of the procedure upfront, an impossible task for my family right now.

My father’s condition has worsened, and without surgery, he risks losing his life. I’m doing everything I can from here, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Unfortunately, my family back in Afghanistan is in no position to pay for his surgery on their own.

The heartbreaking reality is my sisters are unable to work due to restrictions imposed by the Taliban, which has taken away their ability to earn a living and support the family and my brothers are struggling to make ends meet, recently sold his car to pay for one of the treatments, and can not do much more financially. I am in the United States with my no family, new to the country, and still working hard to establish myself and find stability. I would never ask for help if I could do this alone, but right now, my father’s life is at risk, and I have no other option but to reach out.

The cost of the surgery is significant, and without your support, we simply cannot afford it. The medical facilities in Afghanistan require payment upfront, and we are unable to cover the cost as a family.
