Soma, my 5-year-old pitty rescue from Mexico, needs urgent surgery to walk freely again and to live without pain. Since he came into my life in 2020, Soma has been my anchor, my comfort, my quiet joy through countless transformative seasons. Now, after being diagnosed with a double cranial ligament rupture, he is the one in pain. Without surgery, his world will keep shrinking; with it, he can run, play, and live freely again without painful limitations.
Soma is made out of pure love. His gentle and loyal nature radiates in every interaction he has. He is everyone’s friend. Even now, he doesn’t complain, he just limps bravely forward, still greeting each day with a helicopter tail wag and joy in his eyes. It breaks my heart to see the physical limits in which he is able to experience his joy.
Currently he is on anti-inflammatory medication which temporarily alleviates his symptoms. Without his medication, he can barely walk, which leads us to requiring surgery. Without surgery, his condition will continue to progress the more he is on his legs. We've attempted to apply for grants with no luck thus far, so we are humbly reaching out to our community with the hope that we restore Soma's life back to normal. Every contribution goes directly to his healing so he can be his bright, joyful self again. (The vet quoted us a range. If any funds are remaining after the surgery, they will be donated to another dog in need.)
Help Soma walk, play, and shine again. If you know him, you know how special of a soul he is. If you can give, please do. If you can share, it means everything.
Thank you so much for your support.
Love, from Soma + fam
