Urgent Surgery for Sierra Sanders: Help Needed

A very important person in our life needs help. Our granddaughter's mother, Sierra Sanders, is in need of an urgent surgery due to complications from her cesarean section. Within days of her c-section, Sierra developed an infection that led to a serious case of sepsis. The infection caused lasting damage to her uterus, resulting in a grade 2 uterine prolapse and an Asherman's syndrome diagnosis. Asherman's syndrome causes chronic pain, infertility, and scar tissue within the uterus. Her uterine prolapse (a descended uterus) has led to further issues that are significantly impacting her daily life.

After extensive medical care, and a second opinion, doctors have confirmed that an abdominal hysterectomy is needed within the next 30-40 days to avoid further difficulties and provide the only solution for relief. This news is devasting. She is a young mother who did not foresee this pregnancy as her only opportunity to carry a child. The physical and emotional toll this situation has taken is overwhelming.

Along with the heartbreak also comes the financial stress. Not only is Sierra going to be responsible for the mounting medical bills from her high-risk pregnancy, c-section and continued medical care, the hysterectomy requires a large sum of money upfront before the surgery can be performed. Unfortunately, Sierra's insurance will not cover the majority of her surgery, leaving her to carry the heavy financial burden. In addition to the 12-13 week recovery from the surgery, Sierra will be without a source of income during that time.
