Hello all,

Unfortunately, a family emergency has come up.

Onyx is a small 9 yr old Pomeranian and he was in an accident that caused his hip bone to be dislocated out of the socket (Cranio Dorsal Hip Luxation)

After taking him to the Vet ER and getting X-rays, his hip socket shown damaged, resulting in requiring surgery. Unfortunately, the hip socket has been damaged and won’t hold his ball joint (it popped back in on its own them out again) so he requires an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery.

My options were get the surgery now at this cost or wait 4 weeks for a cheaper cost. Waiting would result in scar tissue healing around the joint and losing muscle mass, most likely resulting in him losing mobility in that leg.

I can’t allow him to stay in pain and possibly be physically disabled just for a cheaper option. The priority is immediate treatment.

I’ve set up CareCredit in order to accept the surgery but I am overwhelmed with the reality of this unexpected bill. These funds will all be going towards the medical bills.

The priority is making sure my little boy is okay first, he’s my 9 year old baby boy and deserves the best.

I hand raised him as a puppy, he was a sick baby. It was predicted that he would pass early or be disable all his life but that couldn’t be more wrong! With 24/7 care, he grew to be a healthy, happy, energetic dog. He’s lived against all odds and been thriving since up til this accident.

I promised him as a small puppy that everything would be okay just like I promised him now, as an older dog, that everything is going to be okay, I will do all that I can for my babies. We all hope for the best!
