Hello, my name is Mariela, and I am requesting financial support for my 1-year-old Chow Chow pup, Mizu. On Monday, 7/21/25, my sweet fluffy girl jumped off my bed while playing and dislocated her hip. She was in a lot of pain and couldn't walk at all. I took her to Hospivet, a veterinarian clinic located in Tijuana, Mexico. The caring staff there were so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, and they did a wonderful job. Mizu received a full exam, X-rays, bloodwork, and pain meds. After review of the scans, the doctor concluded that Mizu will need surgery to correct the hip placement because of the underlying damage to the joint capsule and surrounding tissue.
Mizu is scheduled for open reduction hip surgery on Tuesday 7/29/25 at 9am at the Hospivet in Tijuana, Mexico.
As we all know, surgery can be very costly, especially for our pets with no insurance coverage. Even with the price difference from San Diego to Mexico, this is a big expense I was not expecting at all. I am asking for any help you can give; no amount is too small. All funds will be used specifically for Mizu's surgery, her overnight stay at the hospital, all medications, post-op garments/wound care, and follow-up doctor appointments.
If Venmo, cash, or check works better for you, rather than giving on this platform, please contact me directly.
Mizu is my baby, and having to see her in pain, not able to walk or squat to relieve herself, has broken my heart. She is normally so happy and full of energy, but this incident has stolen her shine. If you cannot give financially, I ask for prayers for Mizu. Prayers for her to be joyful again and to have peace through the procedure. Prayers for the surgeon, doctors, and nurses that will be working on her, and prayers for a successful procedure and a smooth, painless recovery.
Thank you so much for your support.
