Urgent Surgery for Matilda

Hi there

My name is Kaelan Sullivan and I'm 23 years old living in Atlantic Canada with my 2 beautiful cats Matilda & Cordelia.

This year Matilda was diagnosed with breast cancer at only 5 years old. I was told she needs a double mastectomy.

Matilda has been with me as my best friend, and emotional support baby since I moved out of my parents house at 16 and into my first apartment alone at 17. She has been keeping me alive ever since, knowing I had this insanely precious responsibility for the next decade or 2.

So of course, I went for the surgery. I would rather see her alive and well than purchase my first car, pay off my student debt, or buy a fancy laptop. She is worth all of my money and time and more.

The first surgery is 1200 (its already been subsidized for low-income by the Dartmouth SPCA hospital) and I put 500 down to get the first surgery done. It was all the money I could save as I'm a seasonal worker and am on unemployment benefits searching for a job. This first surgery was successful and I could tell she was already feeling better.

Now the second surgery: the main (biggest) lump scheduled for removal in the second surgery is getting bigger and bigger by the day. She can't have the second surgery (which is only 500$) until I pay off the first. I owe approx 700 (edit: confirmed with vet, balance owing on first surgery is $850.08) still, and need to put half down to make the second one happen (150$-250$). It costs me 60$ in gas to get to the vet and back for the surgery. This is the reason I'm looking to raise 1000$. I can provide surgery quotes and receipts.

I'm worried I'm very quickly running out of time to get this tumor removed. I would be more than willing to find a time to pay anybody who can help back, but I can't make the amount of money I need in time to have the surgery.

I don't normally go asking for money or help but she is the only thing keeping me going in life right now. She is the sweetest angel and she deserves another 10-15 years of chasing toys and squirrels and cuddling with me.
