UPDATE: February 24th 2025
First of all Martin and I wish to thank each and every one of you for your help with Logan's surgery.
The University of Florida small animal hospital performed the repair on his leg after evaluating his condition on the 20th of February, he is home now and resting comfortably. The surgery took much longer (4 1/2hrs) and was much more extensive than they first thought but after cutting the bone and repositioning the joint angle they installed a titanium plate and screws to secure the joint. His leg is a bit swelled up at the moment and he is on an extensive array of medications.
He is already showing signs of attempting to put some weight on the bad leg and seems to be getting a little more stable while going outside for his short use of the yard. He will have to be taken back to Gainesville for ex-rays and check-up in 30 days and again in 90 days. It is now and will be many long nights for all three of us, the medications cause trips outside often all night. He is just to well trained to do anything inside.
The University of Florida has been great, since the surgery they have called every morning to check on him.
Once again our heart felt thanks for everyone's help with Logan.
Renate
Hi, my name is Logan. I am a five-year-old, 185 pound English Mastiff mobility service dog. I normally help my dad, who is a 100% disabled veteran, but right now I can barely walk.
I recently had an accident and tore my ACL tendon in my right rear leg and will need surgery. The surgery is very expensive and must be done at the University of Florida because it is a very specialized and serious procedure.
So, my mom and dad need help with the bill. They are both retired and on a fixed income. It will cost approximately $7000. I truly need your help so I can get back to work. I can’t put any weight on that leg, so I am unable to help my dad stay stable and mobile.
Any help would be amazing, and I appreciate everyone.
With love and slobber,
Mr. Martin, Mrs. Renate, and Logan
God bless.
