If you know Ashley, then you know Gus. He is her sweet and silly protector, always by her side—when not looking for treats or being the ringleader with his friends at school (Uptown Pup DTLA) each day.

24 hours ago, Gus took a fall when attempting to jump on the bed—something he's done countless times before. Only this time, he hurt himself... bad. The next morning, Gus could not walk, his back legs dragging behind him while he trembled in pain. Within hours, we were told by a neurologist that he injured a section of his spine and requires surgery if he's ever going to walk again.

Between medications, MRIs, surgery, transitional care and physical therapy, the financial burden is heavy. Current costs are approaching $15,000 just to get Gus the assessment and surgery he needs.

If you can find it in your hearts to help Ashley and Gus, it would mean the world to me and our family. I can't think of anyone more deserving than my big sis, as she is truly a bright light for me and so many others.
