Urgent Surgery for Gravy: Your Help Needed
Donation protected
On October 4, the unthinkable happened. My sweet Gravy, as you all know, is our world. Unfortunately, last Friday, he took a crazy fall off the couch in our living room. What used to be a happy, barking dog turned into a dog that was sad, whimpering, and couldn’t walk. Because of this, we had to rush him to a hospital nearby for an emergency vet visit. The vet had no idea what was wrong with Gravy. He seemed to have all vital signs good, but he trembled when he was trying to stand up on his back legs. The doctor told us if he didn’t get better to get x-rays on Monday, so they gave him gabapentin and told us to get plenty of rest. If he didn’t get better by the weekend, we were to see his regular vet.
Unfortunately, Gravy got worse over the weekend; he could barely walk. He went from a loving dog to a paraplegic crawling on the floor. He couldn’t go to the bathroom, and he was in so much pain they had to catheterize his bowels on Monday. We took him to a neurological vet in Miami. The vet there said Gravy had a herniated disc and he needed emergency surgery after looking at the results from the MRI. This incurred over $11,000 in veterinary bills, so we are trying to raise money on GoFundMe for Gravy. Any money that we have that we don’t use for Gravy, we will put towards animal rescues. Gravy is not only our fur baby, but he’s also an amazing therapy dog, and we are praying that Gravy gets through. Any help from you would be greatly appreciated.
