Urgent Surgery for Eliza at REIN Rescue

My name is Allison Rhyne and I am raising money for Rescuing Equines In Need, a 501c3 non-profit located in Polk County North Carolina. I volunteer regularly at REIN Rescue and support their mission to help unwanted and abandoned horses find loving homes.

Eliza, the lovely Andalusian/Morgan filly in the photos was rescued from a kill pen early in 2024. She is only two years old and has been transformed from a neglected feral creature to a personable, happy filly. Unfortunately, she suffered a puncture wound in her shoulder while turned out in the pasture. This wound also resulted in a bone chip that needs to be removed. The folks at REIN treated the wound conservatively, hoping it would heal on its own. That did not work out and she now requires surgery. Tryon Equine Hospital has estimated surgery costs will be $2,000.
