Urgent Surgery for Ace: A Senior Beagle's Need
Donation protected
Hi all ! My name is Roxana and I have an amazing senior beagle named Ace. He’s been our doggy for over 13 years, and he’s the most loyal, talkative, crazy and loving dog I’ve ever met. Every morning he still barks at us to wake up to walk him and chases bunnies when he smells them. He wakes up every time one of us comes home to greet us and lick our hands. He’s loves to go camping and sit by the fireplace with us. He’s a wonderful kisser, wonderful entertainer, and a wonderful part of our lives.
Recently in November he began showing a red mass near the corner of his eye. The mass grew at a concerning rate, and during our visit with the ophthalmologist in January, they said the mass had partially detached his retina, leading to partial blindness in the eye. Now in February, the mass has grown to such a size that surgery is required. It’s incredibly difficult to watch him be in discomfort. His eyelids are unable to fully close leading to a constant runny eye. Other than the mass, he’s an amazing, healthy dog. He has so much life left in him, so many more smells he needs to smell, so many more camping trips, so many more trips for the park.
We already have the surgery date scheduled for March 5th with a highly regarded animal vision center. Any help would be beyond greatly appreciated. Even if you can’t donate, I hope his photos made you smile, because he’s really the greatest dog anyone could ask for. I want to thank everyone for reading Ace’s story and wish him luck for a swift and easy recovery.
Thank you
