"Hello, my name is Mohamed, and I live in Belgium.
I’m raising money to support my friend Yasser, who lives in Gaza. Yasser, along with his wife and two children, has lost their home and are now facing extreme hardship. They have nothing left and are struggling to survive without shelter, food, or basic needs. Your generous donation can help them rebuild their lives and bring hope during this incredibly difficult time. Any amount you can contribute will make a big difference. Thank you for your support."
Yasser's message:
I am Yasser, 33 years old, and my wife Israa, 24, along with our children, Leen (2 years old) and Abdul Hamid (an infant).
We lost our beautiful home—our safe haven and source of warmth—on November 28, 2023, leaving behind memories of security and happiness that we can no longer reclaim. The cruelty of war did not allow us a moment to breathe; we have been constantly displaced, moving 22 times between hospitals, schools, and overcrowded universities, carrying our pain and fear with every step.
We endured the hardest nights, even having to sleep once in school hallways under a rainy sky, drenched by the cold waters and consumed by helplessness. We saw death pass us by, yet we survived, carrying in our hearts the scars of this arduous journey and suffering that cannot be forgotten.
My little daughter, Leen, who has not yet turned three, has never known stability. Instead, she has become accustomed to desolate roads and cold, temporary shelters.
Amid all this pain, my wife, Israa, was carrying our son, Abdul Hamid, in her womb while being pursued by the sounds of rockets and shelling. She spent her pregnancy fleeing death, her heart filled with terror and her eyes brimming with tears. I cannot count how many times danger nearly claimed her and our unborn child, or how we lived with shattered hearts, fearing we might lose our baby before he ever saw the light of day. Even food was scarce, insufficient to nourish her or the baby she was carrying, adding hunger to the cruelty of our reality.
Despite all this suffering, by God’s mercy and grace, Abdul Hamid came into this world healthy and safe. He was a miracle amidst the devastation, a glimmer of hope in the darkness.
What we seek now is simple yet profound: a chance to live a dignified life, far from the sounds of death. A life where we can provide our children with the safety they deserve.
We humbly appeal to your compassionate hearts to help us by donating so that we can rebuild our home and create a new life—a life filled with safety and joy for our children, far from the never-ending nightmare of displacement.
