URGENT: support queer Ugandans w emergency relocation
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Our friend has shared about a queer Ugandan, who in urgent need of support towards housing costs. So we have raised the target of this campaign to £3000. If you have the means, please donate whatever you can to support Tina and her family.
TINA is an activist in Uganda. Though she survived the homophobic wave that followed the passing of the Anti-LGBTQIA+ law in the country, the recent developments have caused her, her partner, and their child so much pain.
Tina is in need of relocating to a safe place where they and their child can find some relative safety. The sum raised will go towards relocation and rent costs, that could cover up to 3 months.

Previous funding support of £1600 went to Nabuline and Shadia (below is their story). Very thankful to anyone who donated and keeps supporting.
Nabulime is a 31-year old lesbian mother. She lived with her 4-year old daughter and her trans partner until living together became difficult due to the Ugandan draconian law which sets citizens against each other. Nabulime and her partner have faced numerous threats. Following these, Nabulime is now on her own, covering living costs.
Nabulime seeks support for rent, and to revitalise her business and make it strong enough to support her and her child sustainably.
Shadia, a 26 years old lesbian was chased away from her parents home after one of her neighbours reported her to her father as being part of the LGBTIQ community. She seeks support to be able to rent a house and live independently from her parents.
Shadia is confident that once she finds a place to stay away from the community that knows her, she will have some peace of mind and will look for a job and sustain herself.
For now, both are living from friend to friend for a day or two depending on who is willing to house them and for how long.
Please donate whatever you can to support them.
