Hi, my name is Ravali!
I live in Vienna, Austria, where I am doing my masters, facilitate yoga classes and teach cooking classes, sharing the wonderful knowledge I learned about Indian cuisine from my parents. My parents worked tirelessly to run a restaurant in our village, Dagadarthi, in Southeast India.
Today, I’m reaching out with an urgent request. My 16-year-old cousin—and, by extension, my entire family—is facing a devastating situation. My cousin, a wonderful young person, has been diagnosed with an advanced tumor located above her uterus. This tumor needs to be surgically removed immediately.
The situation is critical. The tumor is growing rapidly and could burst, which would be life-threatening. She also has a serious auto immune disease. The medical costs for this procedure and the necessary aftercare are enormous. There is no way to get this money to cover them. Back home In my village, there is no reliable health insurance system to provide financial support for situations like this. Medical costs fall entirely on families, and for my cousin’s family, this has been devastating.
Last year, her father—the sole provider for their household—was severely injured in a truck accident. He needed multiple brain surgeries, which cost over €40,000. To pay for his treatment, they had to sell their home, use their savings, and take on crushing debt. Her father is still recovering, unable to work, and the family is struggling to make ends meet.
We’ve spent over €25,000 euros on her treatment. We still need €10,000 more for her treatment. The previously raised funds through go fund were all spent on her treatment.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe campaign to raise €13,000, which would cover some of the much needed medical care. While there are many expenses down the road, we’re focusing on this immediate need, to get her chemotherapy.
We need YOUR support.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. If 200 people donate €50, we can reach the needed amount but even if you can give 5€, €10 or €20, it would mean the world to us.
Your support could save a young woman’s life and bring hope to an entire family struggling to get through this heartbreaking situation.
Please take a moment to support this campaign.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
yours sincerely
Ravali
