Urgent Support Needed to Fix Our Water-Damaged Home

Story

A pipe burst in our wall we don’t know when or how, but here we are. We need to fix the piping in the wall, wherever the leak is. This leak has caused a lot of water damage that has rapidly overtaken our entire house to various degrees. We need to re-tile the tub, re-floor the kitchen, and break out panels of pine in our walls to hopefully find the location of the leak. We have to dismantle our entire kitchen and set it aside in a shed until we can get the floor taken out and re-floored. It’s a nightmare. I’m terrified where we will go from here it’s a disaster and there’s nowhere left to go from here I really need help. This total is all the money we might need to finalize touches to get us to the final stretch of repairs. I’ve gone without water since the fourth. Anything you can donate will help us overcome this hurdle. I don’t know when I’ll have water again, but this is the only home I have. Please help :( (Update as of 4/26) It’s been a hot minute—we found the location of where we think the leak is, destroyed everything to stabilize the house, and need to get that leak fixed before we move forward with restoring everything. Our insurance didn’t give us much. I’m looking to keep my head above water here anything given will be appreciated. It’s been really difficult, but we’ve made do with the help of a co-worker. Please feel free to share this if you can. Update as of 4/28/25 I just contacted a contractor and they gave me solid advice to? Fake a lease? with the people in staying at to commit insurance fraud and get more money for being forced out of my home by these repairs? I mean—- maybe I misunderstood but woof.  If anyone has any advice please message me: if anyone has any contractors they know of that are HONEST people please also message me.  5/1/25  Casey- our tech from our mitigation company took down a containment field so we had access to our upstairs.  We currently have a fridge in our house where we can store food- but no access to electricity otherwise as the way our house is set up you can’t power both.  We are staying in a small house next to ours but we shouldn’t have to stay here longer than 3-4 days max I don’t think.  We’re still waiting for the house to dry out- and restoration will come after- our subfloors are set at 50% moisture and should potentially be dry by tomorrow - if so we could move back in as soon as then. Then comes the process of restoration- which is a whole other issue.  I have 3 different contractors who can give us estimates. I’ll be calling more tomorrow.  We also need to fix the leak. So a handyman that can run a new line of pex pipe from one joint to the other.  That’s all for today.  5/5/25  I’m doing my midterm from this tiny room and it’s really hard to concentrate- but when I saw how far this go fund me has come and made it a little bit easier to relax. Thank you for everything so far- I contacted a plumber to come and fix the leak - and repair damage done to a stud it’s seated in.  Hopefully that won’t be too expensive to replace and repair. Then it will be a matter of finding estimates.  The subfloor is still drying :( this started on the 15th and it was only supposed to take 5-7 days- but at least there’s no chance of mold taking hold of our house! That’s the good news!  5/8/25  We now have full access to our house again! We have a working fridge and our bed- it’s time for estimates to rebuild.  We already got one and it’s out of budget so they might not be possible :) we will keep trying until we find something that fits.  In the meantime- I have 3 more coming tomorrow and a plumber coming to fix the line. We should be safe after to use water. We may be able to put our sink up - it’s hard to say- but at least we have a place to stay :)  Thank you so much for all the donations- I will keep updating for anyone interested !  5/8/25 I went ahead and arranged our house and put a lot of things back that I knew where it went- a lot of the cabinetry can actually easily be screwed back into place so I will probably be doing that tomorrow anything that I can figure out I will go ahead and try to fix myself just to get this process moving faster.  Any little bit of my home restored feels amazing… Even the small familiarity warms my heart and makes me feel a bit more mentally stable The estimates will come tomorrow and so will the plumber I’ll keep you updated 5/21/25 The leak has been restored for a bit and now we’re communicating with contractors and restoration companies alike to restore the space. So far I’ve contacted- -Coast 2 Coast Restoration -A/S Construction -Home Perfect Restoration -American Response Team (5/19/25) -Klarkstone (Worked on tiny homes before) -Absolutely Handy (5/20/25) -Bold Flood and Fire -Palomar Restoration -Hometown Restoration Were still waiting on quotes back from most of these companies.
