My name is Miranda. I am currently facing the most terrifying and painful challenge of my life. I have always prided myself on being independent and supporting those around me, but right now, I need to ask for help.

I am a more-than-full-time student juggling a 15-unit load while working 4 days a week at an assisted living facility. My life revolves around caring for others—both at work and at home, where I support my sister, our two dogs, and her bearded dragon.

Recently, I was struck by severe acute pancreatitis. I cannot even begin to describe the pain—it is truly the worst pain I have ever experienced in my entire life, leading to an emergency, immediate hospitalization. Because of the severity of this condition, doctors have placed me on leave from work while my body heals.

Being in the hospital and unable to work has immediately stopped my income. As a student supporting a household, I am facing a dire situation with bills stacking up, cost of living, and ensuring the pets are taken care of while I am physically unable to do so.

I have spent most of my life caring for elderly residents and helping my family, but I am now completely overwhelmed.

I am reaching out for any assistance possible to help cover my expenses and basic living expenses while I am off work recovering. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a massive difference in my ability to heal without the fear of losing everything.
